Hammering Out a Second Edition part 8

Ah chapter 14. I Tweeted about my then-arch-nemesis a few days ago. It took me days to streamline it and find it satisfactory for this draft round. And then chapter 15 turned around and presented the same problem. So while I wade into the mysterious unknown, I offer chapter 4.

If you’re stopping by for the first time, chapters 1 to 3 are posted with easily accessible links in the sidebar of my information pages.

Through Rain and Missing Mantaurs is a gritty dark fantasy with romantic elements. Not for the faint of heart. Mention of violence. It requires an open mind and out of the box thinking. GLBTQ.

Pony is a twenty-year-old bipedal half-centaur with no desire to waste tears on a history she can’t remember. Concealing the additional crest of hair on her head and that tail sprouting from her lower back keeps her busy enough.

And, although content with her job as a mail courier, she flounders through her possibly one-sided romance with Mardyth, a handsome elf male courtesan.

Her happily mundane life shatters at the arrival of Konstantine Bywater. This half-giant from a rival mail company turns out to be a childhood friend eager to stir up the past.

Kon inquires about Orion, another mantaur last seen in Pony’s company before rogue fae massacred the centaur hamlet when they were small children. She has no answers.

When Kon’s employees accuse Mardyth of being the one who lead the attack upon the centaur hamlet all those years ago, Pony is determined to uncover the truth.
